The National Square Dance Convention is a money ripoff.

The National Square Dance Conventions are held solely to make big money from the people who attend.

Some past conventions made almost One Hundred Thousand Dollars Profit.

Where does this money go?

To promoting Square Dancing nationally? No.

To help The United Square Dancers Association? No.

To a national fund of any type? No.

Where does the money go?

To the local organizations that hold them.

And how do you get to hold them?

You ask the people who have held them before, it's a good-oh-boy club.

Many Square Dancer couples spend over a thousand of dollars getting to and from a national.

Then the dancers are ask to pay a large entrance fee. Higher than any other three day dance.

The local organization gets local hotels to give them a discount on room rates by promising to fill a number of rooms.

Do they pass this on to the dancers? No, they charge the dancers full price.

They Find a places for RVers and get discounts or find a place that will let the RVs park for free.

Do they pass this on to the dancers? No, they charge the dancers full price.

They charge vendors for space so dancers can buy their goods.

The callers spend there own money to get there and pay for their hotel and are expected to work with no pay.

A better thing to do is spend your money going to dance festivals in and around your area sponsored buy a local association.

In this way your money will go to keeping Square Dancing alive and well at the local level.

Quit putting money in the hands of a few organizations who keep holding these big profit dances and keep

all the money for them self's.
